David Morrell (9-0-0, 8 KOs) puts his WBA regular super middleweight belt on the line once again on Saturday night when he squares off with Sena Agbeko (28-2-0, 22 KOs) at The Armory in Minneapolis. Morrell, a 25-year-old southpaw from Cuba, was elevated from interim champion in January 2021 and has gone the distance just once, beating Lennox Allen by unanimous decision on Aug. 8, 2020, in Los Angeles. Agbeko, nicknamed "The African Assassin," is from Ghana and fights out of Nashville. He has won his last five fights and was scheduled to face Morrell in Las Vegas on April 22. The bout was canceled because Agbeko was not licensed to fight in Nevada.

Morrell defended his title on the April card by knocking out Yamaguchi Falcão with a right hook at 2:22 of the opening round. Agbeko last fought on Oct. 14, winning by TKO over Bruno Leonardo Romay at 2:03 of the second round at Sioux City, Iowa.
There are two bouts on the undercard that will be televised ahead of the Morrell-Agbeko title fight. Andre Berto (32-5-0, 24 KOs) takes on Robert Guerrero (37-6-1, 20 KOs) in a welterweight battle. It is Berto's first fight since a split-decision victory over Devon Alexander in Uniondale, New York, on Aug. 4, 2018. Guerrero also comes off a spell of inactivity since beating Victor Ortiz by unanimous decision on Aug. 21, 2021, in Las Vegas.
Immediately before the title fight, Chris Colbert (17-1-0, 6 KOs) takes on Jose Valenzuela (12-2-0, 8 KOs) in the lightweight division. This is a rematch of their March 25 battle in Las Vegas that Colbert won by unanimous decision. Valenzuela has lost his last two fights, losing to Edwin de los Santos on Sept. 4, 2022, when he was knocked out by a straight left at 1:08 of the third round.
